The Respondent Experience
When respondents reach a table of contents, they see a list of all the blocks and can choose to work on any block in the list.
At any point, respondents can move to another block by clicking the sidebar menu and selecting another block. Any completed block will have a checkmark, helping respondents keep track of their progress.
When respondents complete the last block in the table of contents, they’ll see a conclusion page that asks if they’re ready to submit their answers. They can either click the next button to submit the section or review their responses.
Adding a Table of Contents
- Open your Survey Flow and add the Table of Contents element.
- Nest the desired blocks and other elements within your table of contents.
- If you include a branch in your table of contents, any blocks within that branch will only be visible once the conditions for the branch are met by the respondent.
Customizing the Table of Contents
From the ToC (Table of Contents) Options menu, you can force respondents to complete a given block before they navigate to other blocks by selecting Force respondent to finish block.
You can also change the name of the block as it appears to respondents. By default, the name that appears to respondents is the name of the block. To make a change, select Use translatable block label and either select an existing message or create a new one.
To give the table of contents a header, type a name in the header text box. To add styling to the header, select ToC header from Library and use the Rich Content Editor to create your header.
Other settings for your table of contents can be found in the Options menu.
- You can add an introductory message to the first page of your table of contents.
- Add a conclusion page using the default completion message or a message that you create.
- Determine if you will display the sidebar navigation menu and initial table of contents page.
- Show Block Progress displays a percent complete metric next to each block name in the sidebar navigation menu.
