Edit and Finalize an Opportunity Contract in Salesforce (Contracts Team)

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to edit and finalize an opportunity contract in a system. It covers updating contract stages, ensuring accuracy of information, and generating a sales order. By following these steps, users can efficiently manage and track the progress of contracts, reduce email communication, and ensure the accuracy of sales orders in the system.

 

Updating after receiving a contract request form

 

1. Click "Edit Contract Assigned To" and assign a Contracts Representative to own the opportunity.

 

2. Click to update the stages of the SOW through the lifecycle. This will allow sellers and managers to see the progress and reduce emails.

 

3. Click the "SOW Sent Date" field.

 

4. Click "Save"

 

Once a SOW is Moved to Closed - WIN

 

Alert: Alert! Audit the following to pre-populate the sales order in NetSuite:

  • Customer Name Matches Contract
  • Products are Accurate
  • Contracting Status = Fully Executed
  • Subsidiary Matches Contract
  • SOW # is filled out
  • SOW Contract Start Date and End Date matches Contract terms
  •  

5. Click "Edit Contracting Status" and Update to Fully Executed

 

6. Click "Subsidiary" to Update Subsidiary as needed

 

7. Click the "SOW #" field.

 

8. Click the "Contract Start Date" field.

 

9. Click the "Contract End Date" field.

 

10. Click "Save"

 

11. Click "Generate SO"

 

12. Cross check the following fields.

 

13. Click "Next" and it will help publish a Sales Order to NetSuite
