Previewing ensures each survey looks and collects the data that you want in the way you intend.

Previewing Options

Click Preview Survey at the top of the Projects page to launch an interactive preview.

Preview mode looks and behaves like your actual survey with some additional testing options:

• Restart Survey jumps back to the beginning of your preview.
• Ignore validation bypasses questions with answer validation, like any character limits in Text Entry questions.

  

• Show hidden questions lets you view questions that may be hidden to respondents, like Timing and Meta Info questions.
• Place Bookmark tags any page you are currently on, letting you skip previously tested questions later.

  

Testing Mobile Devices with QR Codes

The Preview Survey page shows an interactive preview of how your survey will look on a mobile device. This preview is not device specific.

To test on a personal device:

1. Click QR Code.
2. Scan the code with your device.
3. Preview directly on your mobile device.

Note: If you want others to preview your survey, send them the URL from the Preview Survey page. They don’t need a Qualtrics account to use the link.

Generating Test Responses

If you complete a test survey and Submit your response, you will capture that data. It will be available in your responses so you can examine how your backend data will appear.

Note: This does not count toward your response limit.

To randomly generate a lot of “dummy” test responses without retaking your survey multiple times:

1. Click the Tools dropdown.
2. Hover over Review.
3. Click Generate Test Responses
4. Select the number of test responses
5. Click Start Test
